Sounds like a lot of people will be confused, missing their queue etc.

HAL tried the Silent Disembarkation but it did not work out well. Please see Yonnie's POST #3 in the thread in the HAL forum:

Lulu, I have had thoughts of silent being like that. I don't understand why Carnival wants to try it, but John Heald di say they were at least considering doing it.

When we where on the miracle it was a little painful cause we didn't know better. We were in a hurry to get to the airport. The next cruise we stayed a extra night so we waited until the end and just walked off grabbed our luggage and off to the hotel that easy. That's the way we will do it now on. STRESS FREE

We also flight out the next day - just one less thing to worry about when getting off.

Maybe people will follow instructions better on Carnival than on HAL.

The last full day of the cruise we got either a letter or a card indicating what time we could leave the ship.

Even though the CD told everyone not to leave the ship until your designated time -- people didn't care and did what they wanted to.

HAL started this in 2008 and each time it was a terrible mess -- as you can read from LuLu's quote of what I wrote.

We were so happy to see on our last cruise that at least the ship we were on went back to calling colors and numbers. Hope the silent disembarkation has been stopped on all HAL ships.

It's always been very easy for us. We take our time, eat breakfast, wait for Carnival to tell us to get off the damn boat. Grabbing a porter of luggage always gets you to the head of any immigration line (which isn't Carnival's fault).

    Easy peasy.

Doubtful and that's what messes up any debarkation - the passengers, not the cruise line.

Yonnie, thanks for giving us your first hand experience with Silent Disembarkation.

Like, Zy, I doubt that Carnival pax will follow instructions any better than the HAL pax did.
