Tables for 2 that really aren't!

There seemed to be lots of tables for 2 and 4 that were so only inches apart -- looked like a long table for 10. No way to walk between them ... one person had to enter to be seated from one side and the other person from the other side.

We like and ask for a large table so it didn't bother us ... but, feel sure, it did others. Also, we had rather not be seated with others who want their privacy. In addition ... folks would be ordering as they arrived so different lots of coming and going with food and cleaning.

Anyone else find this to be a problem?

When we cruised alone on the Gem it was no problem the tables for two were not on top of each other and when I travelled with another couple on carnival pride and ncl spirit once again the tables were by themselves and even the one time we did fixed dining the table for four was by itself on carnival triumph. Perhaps your problem was on other cruise lines.

Which cruise lines, Lulu? Yes, it would bother me. If I wanted a table for 2, it would be for privacy, not to be on a long bench with only the smallest hint of being only with the person I would be with.

Of course, we like the larger tables......

Lulu, on Sensation, the tables for 2 had a fair amount of space between other tables. Not sure if it varies from ship to ship, though.

Hear you, Neal! I often do the same thing.

Some of those on Carnival Fantasy & Fascination were the closest I've ever seen on any cruise line.

Lulu, can you request a table change or is that frowned upon? Know we wouldn't like being on top of people while eating or having to disturb you getting up & down.

We asked for a table change the very 1st night, no problem doing so. The dining staff want to make sure you have a great dinner experience.

Debbie ... Even when doing "My Time" dining, you can ask for a different table if they are trying to seat you at one you don't wish to have. Not a problem.

The close ones don't really bother us ... but, like you, would hate to feel we were annoying others.
