Question What made you decide to give Carnival a try?

Why did you decide to take your first CARNIVAL cruise?

I booked our first Carnival (B2B Glory) cruise because I'd read so much Carnival Bashing on the boards and wanted to see for myself.

I booked Carnival back in the 80s because they offered buy 1 get 1 free for day cruises for $99, or even FREE cruises to nowhere within a week of your birhtday.

I didnt even think about cruising again until 2006 when a diet group I belonged to put together a Princess cruise, way overpriced. $1300 pp I paid for my OV. yikes.. and I said 2 of us could do a cruise out of Galveston for that .. and sure enough.

Ecstasy in fall of 2006 was when I came back to cruising. It was a great cruise .. and started cruising a lot after that one.. seemed like such a bargain to me. I didnt join a cruise message board until later on .. so that was no influence.

Curtis, I thought you were going to say because your grandparents booked it and took you with them .... You're really very lucky they enjoy having you cruise with them.

That's a good reason and why we sometimes book a Carnival cruise out of Charleston.

I was joining friends on a cruise, and Carnival was the line that had already been picked. It was a good thing I went, because I was then able to get a returning cruiser discount when we took our first HAL cruise.

It was the Price back in 1995, after 28 cruises its still the same today.
30 Cruises with Carnival can't add the 2 jubilee cruises in 1999 and 1998 to Hawaii and southern caribbean.

Back in 1986 I had to go to the travel agents' office and pick up airline tickets for my boss. While I was waiting to get the tickets I spotted a Carnival book, so I picked it up. The rest is history. We've never had a problem with Carnival and the price is right for us. Maybe someday we will try a different cruise line.
