During the introductory cruise of the Carnival Magic, TC heard Carnival Cruise Lines chief Gerry Cahill talking about the line’s future fleet of ships, saying the “next generation” of Carnival vessels would be a “new generation, different from the existing fleet.” In what way? All Cahill said was: “size-wise.”
But that doesn’t necessarily mean the line will commission bigger ships. Cahill said the line’s Fantasy-class ships, which accommodate about 2,200 passengers, “are a very good size for us.”
“Not every port wants a huge ship, and we like to base our ships at drive-market ports,” he said.
