That's one of the main reasons why we don't book through the cruise line - prefer to do it ourselves or book with an independent company like Shore Trips. It's just not worth the hassle, expense, time constraint, or crowd involved with booking it through Carnival.

In what way is it a pain? We are suppose to book Carnival excursions very soon.
If it is anything like trying to get cabin price information on their website I can understand that it is probably a pain.
Carnival's website is a pain for finding information. In order get to prices on a particular category you have to go through a series of "upsell" steps. It is the worst cruise line website for researching.

I had no problems, we sat with our friends, went through all the excursions available and booked them. The only complaint is that with Carnival you pay when you book them, unlike NCL who doesn't bill you until you are on the cruise and they put it on your onboard expenses.
That Add To Cart button has a mind of its own! Sometimes, it'll work ... sometimes, not.
First, you have know to go under your booking number to Planning ... then to Excursions ... then to Book Excursions. Then, you see the excursions listed for your sailing. Then, you have to know to click the excursion to get the Excursion Description and another button for the Times. On the Excursion Description page there is a Add To Card button .... but it won't add the excursion to your cart from there. Why have it?You have to go have to back to the list and click the Add to Cart button there. After two tries I finally got the excursion into my cart.
Next, you have to give all of your credit card information. Carnival already has our cc info on file from forms we filled out earlier. Why can't they just use that?![]()
Glad we only wanted to book one excursion through the ship!!!!

I've only booked Carnival Shore excursions on the interactive in-room TV, and it was simple.
