We don't usually eat in the speciality dining but we did eat in the steak house on the Splendor last week for Valentines Day.

They served me the WORST Filet Mignon I have ever been served anywhere - ever!!! Real dog food if the dog has good teeth and can chew that much.

This was a surprise as I had read nothing but positive things about the steak house on the Splendor?? The ship's buffet food was great!! My wife and I both thought it was the best cruise ship food we have had. In fact, the evening after the "night-mare Filet Mignon", I had a flat iron steak in the MDR and it was great!! I should have saved my money and stayed with the MDR!!

We eat in the steak house on the Glory back in 2003 and that was so-so. The MDR sucked on that ship back then as well.

I can only speak for the meat and potatoes stuff because we don't eat seafood.

Well, what a surprise! The specialty venued are usually reported to be top drawer. Wonder what happened"

We have not done one of othe altrnative restaurants on Carnival, however have done both the steak and Italian ones on RCCL, and both were wonderful, but the steakhouse was really the better of the two.

I hope mowdoc's experience was just a fluke! I glad the buffet food was good!

The 2 times we sailed Carnival the food in the MDR was the best part of the cruise!

Carnival's Specialty Restaurants were previously known as Supper Clubs. They are now known as Steakhouses.

They've change the name of the Supper Club!! Please tell me though they still have the trio of butters with bread as a starter?? I would pay the extra just to have the truffle butter!

Ooh, that sounds great, Securityman. I <3 restaurant reviews! Especially of the specialty restaurants on ships. We went to one on Carnival a few years back and I thought the food was better in the MDR. We were dissappointed. They didn't have the steakhouse then, ours was some asian inspired theme, I think.
