Yes Char, my lady is beyond special to me!!

We are back home and our cruise was one for the books!!! WOW, did we have a great time!! The entire cruise was great until Sunday when fog kept us from the port until noon. This caused us to miss our flight home and cost us more than the cruise did for flight home!! Those airlines really know how to stick it into you when you are stranded.

    The steakhouse.
Onboard the Conquest, the steakhouse is named "The Point". We had made reservations for Monday 2/14 as a Valintine treat for us both. We have eaten in Carnival steakhouses in the past with results ranging between so-so and terrible experience. The Point fit right into this range.

The decore in the Point is nice. The waiters and staff are also very nice. The room temp was too cold and even the hostess was wearing extra clothes (a coat and a sweater). I will never understand why an eating place should be this cold as it is hard to eat when your belly is cramped??

The food was good but not what is advertised. I had steak in the MDR that was just as tasty as what was served to me in the Point, so once again, I can not say the steakhouse food is superior. Just good.

A long stemmed rose was delivered to my wife at the table for a Valintine gift. I thought this was a nice surprise until I later learned all ladies were given roses in the MDR too. This rose, by the way, was the only thing Carnival did for Valintine's Day?? I'll never know why a special one time party or dance could not be held for this special day for lovers?????

    The bottom line, , , , ,
The Point steakhouse onboard the Conquest was nice and the food was good too. My wife and I both agree, however, it is not worth the extra money. Sorry Carnival, the Point fails with us. Cruisers can eat just as well in the MDR for free. They will be with many more people though as the Point was small and not full (on Valintine's Day???) Our reservation was 8:00pm.

    Our recommendation, , , , , ,
If you never tried a Carnival steakhouse you should at least once. The Point onboard the Conquest is certainly a nice place with good food but we saw nothing to set it above the main dining room.

Mowdoc, there was a big mess on Saturday and Sunday with fog in Galveston. The Conquest was bumped by the fuel barge that was approaching the ship to refuel and service it. Passengers on the Ecstasy and Conquest were delayed leaving port.

I was on the Valor in May, 2005. The Steakhouse on that ship is called Scarlett's, but I did not try it. I will on another occasion. I've tried the Specialty restaurants on Princess, Royal Caribbean, NCL, and Costa and enjoyed the food there.
