Thread: Carnival Pinnacle

I wonderd if anyone had seen the renderings for the Carnival Pinnacle Project that appear last year ?

Is there anything else someone could tell me about the Project ?

If these are actual renderings of a proposed vessel I am not overly impressed. The design seems clumsy and like they tried to make an overiszed version of the Spirit Class. The funnel seems to me way to big for the ship and immediately draws your eye too it. Asthetically this ships lacks something that makes it unique. Not really sure what that red and blue "car" was on the side in one of the pictures . A way to wash the windows? Front portion of the ship lacks openess and the opportunity for some great spots for forward views coming into port.

Carnival new builds after the Carnival Magic due to enter service in 2011 are on hold.

There may be quite a few projects on hold. I'd say a few new builds might have the cruise lines rethink their future plans.

The red and blue car things are in fact lifts that move along the promenade deck and the go up the lifts colum at the side of the ship.

So the question "does this elevator go to the front of the ship" won't be a standard Cruise Director's joke anymore!

But those elevator or tram things would not be very safe to use in bad weather.
