Carnival Sea Miles

Does anyone here use the Carnival Sea Miles credit card??????? I really don't want or need another credit card but this one seems like a decent deal???? Not to sound dumb or anything but exactly how does it work..........Is it dollar for dollar???? Say if you have X amount of "Sea Miles" can you get that much taken off your new booking???? What are some of ya'lls experience with this type of thing good or bad??? And yes I am from the south with that accent

We actually kicked around the idea of getting the card... we essentially use our credit cards for everything; bills, groceries, etc., and then pay it off at the end of the month. We just have 2 cards, a GM card and a Discover. We mostly use the Discover and then at the end of the year we've amassed enough cashback bonus using the card for our bills, that we can cash that in and pay December's bill to take some of the holiday edge off. Or, when we're wanting to buy a car, like I did last year, we use the GM card and knock $1-2k off the car's price. We thought about replacing the GM card with the Carnival card, but the rates aren't great, so it's really only a good deal if you pay it off each month. But it does seem like you could add up the miles pretty quick.

We had thought about it but we decided to stay with our Alaska Airlines credit card instead. There are sometimes price drops for the cruise lines but there hasn't been for the airlines in quite a while. So getting to our port on free miles is more important to us. Also if we take a land vacation, we can still use our miles too.

We have an American Express card (that's not a credit card but a charge card), and yes there is a fee, but they give you points that you can use to buy items from a catalog. We put almost all our expenses on it and we've purchased a digital camera and a few other items with our points. I do know you can use your points to purchase cruises and airfare miles.

a few years ago, it was a great card............I actually got $1000 off two different cruises............................year before last, I checked into using my miles toward a cruise, but could only use my miles booking directly thru the cruiseline, which, I have found to be more expensive than dealing with a travel agent..................so, that was a no win, no win situation.....however, I did use my points toward a resort stay in Mexico and got my resort stay free....................now, I cannot even get on the website and take a look at the resort stays they are supposed to offer.....................I did, use my points toward airfare back in Sept. to take a cruise..................had to use allot of my miles to get even $25 off of the airfare....................really thinking that I need to forget this card and get a card that strictly deals with airfares

Well my TA must not be doing something right???????? I can get the cruise for the same price she does........ I have chose to use the agency because we went to school together and it helps her out some. The thing is the application says it is gonna give me 5000 sea miles miles up front......... What does that translate too in real money off a new booking????

I have this card, but to get a free 7 day cruise to the Caribbean or other itineraries, you'll need to accumulate from 107,000 miles, to well over 100,000 miles, last time I checked. 10,000 miles gives you a small discount in cruisefare.
How it works is you get 1 mile for each dollar you spend, excluding taxes. Purchase a Carnival cruise and use the card for purchases onboard Carnival ships and get 2 miles for each dollar spent. After you first use the card, you get 5,000 bonus miles.
It's not worth it in my book unless you plan on cruising Carnival exclusively.

I am a designated Seamiles Agent, not for the Carnival one but the regular Seamiles one, which is a little better. If you book with a designated agent you get bonus points!

Yes, the regular Seamiles Card is a little better than the Carnival card.

I'm also a designated Seamiles agent.
