Hello Honeybear, I've actually been to your wonderful hometown, to the Superman Jet Rally. Silly me, I tried to video some of the RC jets. LOL That was fun. I video taped a lot of noise and not many jets unles they were on the ground. LOL I'm just up the road from you, in IL, near Champ/Urbana, freezing and wishing I were cruising right now on the Freedom.

I've been on 7 cruises, 5 were on Carnival, 1 on Royal Caribbean, and 1 on Dolphin Cruise Line. (I thought all ships made that noise. LOL)

I forgot to mention that I have 3 more Carnival cruises booked. The closest one is in my signature, the 16 day Transatlantic on the Carnival Freedom on Nov. 6, 2008. The next 2 are B2B on Carnival Splendor and the first 2 legs of the South American repositioning cruises going "Round the Horn."

I too enjoy Carnival...haven't had a bad Carnival Cruise yet. My next one is The Legend out of Tampa in April....and the same ship, same itinerary for November 2, 2008...I am joining my group on that one...I have a theme group organized...so I actually have to work on that one due to the number of people in the group...lol...

We are hoping to plan a Med cruise for summer of 2009, haven't picked a cruise line or itinerary yet....

what are the best cabins on cruise ships, i.e. Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norweigan ships?

Just one opinion

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but in my humble opinion, the cabin that is the best is whatever your personal preference is. It depends on your situation. I have cruised mostly on Carnival and don't have much to compare it with, so am not much help about other cruise lines. I've had ocean views and a suite. The suite was because we had several people going, 3 generations, and we all stayed in the same cabin. I have an aft wrap balcony booked for my next cruise, but have not been in one yet. I booked it for the 5 sea days on the transatlantic part of the cruise. So, it's more a matter of what YOU want. I'm sure you'll get a variety of answers here.

Oh, and by the way, welcome to CLF. I'm sure others would love to meet you. Stop by the Introduce Yourself section and let them know you are here.

I agree with Cindy...it really depends on where you would like to be on the ship and what type of cabin will suit your needs.

We've had inside cabins- which were fine for getting away. Last year my husband and I had a balcony- our first and loved it; and this year we are getting a cabin with a connecting for our two kids. The kids love the idea of being separate- they are 14 and 11.

We've just grabbed what we could. One day, maybe we'll get one of those aft balconies- I'm not holding my breath for it yet!

Welcome aboard!
STephanie
