    Carnivals "old" party reputation

I am soooo angry...My uncle and his wife and friends of theirs were going to come on our group cruise for April...The friend obviously a "Carnival expert" convinced my uncle to not go...saying they are terrible and it is only 20 year olds partying and drinking etc...UGHHHHHHHHH! They also said the food was terrible...so now they aren't going...unbelievable how uninformed or inappropriately informed people function...I am soooo ticked off.

Even on the Jubilee a few years ago...it was NOT a party boat...and the food was excellent...

    UGH!

Sorry I had to vent somewhere...

I'm so sorry Dolores!!! I can't honestly defend, I haven't sailed Carnival yet, but I am hearing everywhere they are moving right along to change the image!! There are party goers on every ship!! Last year on the Star, a large group of about 15 30 somethings, litterally attacked the aft pool with a vengance!! Drinks in hand, screaming and yelling, bikinis askew, mens trunks at half mast!! And there were several elderly in the pool at that time!! To be truthful the men didn't seem to mind but the ladies were not amused!! They stayed about a half hour, then made their way back to the main pool!! It happens everywhere!! If you don't enjoy it, move to another area.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Gee maybe I was too quick to dismiss Carnival! So it's not like that anymore? I can't expect that one the Valor cruise in October of 2006?

LMAO!!! I have no doubt we will see it on the Valor , I see it everywhere else!! I know it is going to be a great cruise. I board with a good attitude and I don't let anything ruin it!!

So I told them..if they didn't want to have fun, lol...maybe they should consider a Holland America Cruise I "hear" it is mostly 60 somethings and wayyyy more laid back.

Honestly...I see drinking and partying on the ships I have been on, and more so on the Sovereign! I think it is funny watching the people staggering up the pier from places like Carlos and Charlies trying to find their way back. Oh well...their loss I say.

Carnival got its reputation from the many short cruises it has from various ports. You will see still see that on some 3 and 4 day cruises - on ALL lines!

It makes sense. Shorter cruises are less expensive. Younger people have less money so they go on the less expensive cruises.

Tell your aunt and uncle that the people who gave Carnival that reputation have now grown up, and have kids who go to camp on the ship! They stay with Carnival because Carnival has grown up with them.

If your aunt and uncle will still rather follow their friend's outdated advice instead of your information based on training and research, then it sounds like we have the same relatives. TOUGH TOENAILS FOR THEM.

The 60 crowd on HAL are the young ones.. elevator music in the lounges, midnight buffet at 9:00, Fibercon tablets on your pillow at night, are what you can expect on HAL.. Been there twice, won't be a third....
