Except for the Fibercon ( ), it's pretty much what I heard about HAL. They are trying to change their image too, but they have a worse problem.

LOL, glad to know that about HAL.. so much for that one! I dunno though..fibrecon tablets on the pillows might not be needed after all that prune juice I would drink at the "midnight" buffet!

Forget the fibrecon!! I would spend the week in the cabin!!! I would just let things not happen, and call roto-rooter when I got home!!:headbang2
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I have not sailed Carnival or HAL...........for the above stated reasons.......I'm not probably being fair.........but the party animal image has led me to stay away from Carnival..........I'm glad several of our members have sailed and or are getting ready to sail Carnival and can give an honest assesment.......I'm begininng to re think this line and possibly give it a try just like I did Princess and Celebrity.

Rog........is HAL really that way?? I was thinking of trying them as well........but..........I would like to hear more when you have time.

Jim, if you would go on one of the newer ships, you'd be amazed and save a lot of money, also. Carnival has been good for us. The specialty restaurants have a much nicer menu. I think the lobster tail I had in Micheals weighed a pound and I'm not exaggerating. I've eaten in a lot of very high end places but Micheals was better. Really.

Do any of the newer ships go out of Galveston? That is where I might try them........but I think all they do out of Galveston is shorter cruises on their older ships..........may have to break down and do a longer cruise out of Florida
