If you do get to Progreso, try taking the local bus to Merida. Round trip ticket is about $2.50 per person. Walk around Merida. Explore the churches, the architecture. Try the local food..its good.

Thanks for the suggestion Hanna. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all the storms will have gotten out of the way and let us go to our originally planned ports complete with little or no damage. It looks like the reports from George town are good. Still waiting to find first hand knowledge about Mo Bay. We will just have to see!

FUTURE CRUISES FOR WEEK STARTING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2008:
Carnival Fantasy: Mon. 9/1 departure from Mobile: We will be forced to change the five-day Carnival Fantasy cruise scheduled to depart on Monday, September 1, 2008 to a four-day cruise departing on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 returning on Sunday, September 7, 2008. The four-day cruise will depart from Mobile at 4:00 PM on Wednesday and visit Cozumel on Friday (arrive 8:00 PM; depart 5:00 PM).
Guests that sail on the new four-day cruise will receive a 25% refund of the cruise fare paid. In addition, guests will receive a 25% discount of a future three- to five-day Carnival Cruise departing prior to December 15, 2009. This discount applies to the cruise fare only. Things are looking good for our itinerary - only the weather will tell:
    The Jamaican ports have reopened.
Jamaica Gleaner News - Ports islandwide reopen today - Saturday | August 30, 2008
Stay tuned for future storms though.

So I posted this on the Dark sides Roll Call and PMd you all about this.

For our Meet and Greet, instead of right after the Muster Drill, lets meet at 6pm in the Atrium Lounge next to the Artists Lobby on the Lobby deck. Let me know what you think?
