Thread: Celebration Delayed Departing Jaxport

The cruise terminal at Jaxport (Jacksonville, FL) was evacuated Saturday this afternoon, as passengers were boarding process the Carnival Celebration.

It was reported that either a phone threat was recieved, or that suspicious item was found during a routine canine inspection.

Sailaway of the Celebration on a 5 day intinerary which includes Key West and Nassau will more than likely be delayed. .

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Coast Guard evacuated the Carnival Cruise Line terminal at Jaxport Saturday afternoon because of a bomb scare.

First Coast News has learned a bomb-sniffing dog came across something suspicious.

After 7 hours the JSO bomb squad gave the all clear.

The passengers are expected to leave port at 10p.m. Saturday.

The ship is headed to Key West.
