    Celebration sold?

I just read the Celebraton has been sold and will no longer be sailing as of next year. Another ship is taking it's place. Does this mean that it will still go out of Jacksonville? I know it has to be a small ship in order for it to fit under the bridge in Jacksonville. Does anyone know anything about this???

I heard that she was leaving the fleet, but have no idea what the future plans for Jaxport are.

Thanks Char. I love Jacksonville and hope they will keep a ship there. It is only a 5-6 hour drive for us, depending on traffic. I hope they will keep a ship there.

I had heard that both the Holiday and Celebration had been sold. I guess it is time. We have retired many ships (Mardi Gras, Festivale, Tropicale, Jubilee) and it never gets any easier to see them go. (Never sailed on the Carnivale...but she is gone too)

We have sailed on the Carnivale and the Festivale. So we have those two covered for you.

I really hope they will keep a ship in Jacksonville. The port is so much easier for us. I would love a little larger ship going out of there. It would be awesome. I like the Celebration but felt it was missing a little something. I guess the smaller RCCL ships have me spoiled. I love the Enchantment and the Sovereign.

I haven't been out of Jacksonville. How low is the bridge? Can the funnel be altered like the Sensation was altered so she could sail from Tampa?

It's a tight fit under the bridge! That lets out the larger ships. We'll just have to wait and see what can fit!

I just checked the Carnival web site and they are still offering cruises on Celebration through April 27, 2009.
