Use of the phone

Hi
does anyone have any suggestions for what would be the best way to get the phone services on the following islands:
George Cayman island ( George Town)
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Roatan in Honduras

I'm looking for suggestions on what should I do to get cheapest phone option working for me on these islands.

I do have the pay as you go with AT&T and will follow up with them, but it seems that i may not be able to use their services from these islands to call Canada, and it will work only if I call to US.

Any ideas?

I guess the phone services on the Carnival Liberty will be expensive for me?
What is the best way to connect at sea? I don't mean the internet option.

Thank you for advices.
Sofia

I used a website last week that I think has this info, but I can't find it right now.
If nothing else, go to your ATT account and check their rates for international calls to your ports. That will at least give you a baseline. Then you can determine if any other plan will be a better option.

I will look for the site I used.

I used my AT&T cell phone and it worked well in Roatan and Grand Cayman. Use of the Carnival Liberty's ship to shore phone service is very expensive as is Cellular at Sea.
You can check out this website:

GSM Cell Phone Rental from Mobal

You can use your cell to place calls from the Caribbean to C'da, but you have to get the International Plan setup on her Acc't before leaving Canada. To check the rates, go to wireless.att.com, type in "roaming" in the Search box, and click on the link for rates.

We Have Used It....

On our cruises to the Caribbean, we really had not problems with Cellphone use especially in St Thomas, San Juan and Barbados.

We use Verizon All American Plan that helps cover most of the US and their terrorities.

We have also been happy with the connection and clear signal.
