I just posted a cruise journal for our Southern Caribbean cruise. It's based on the letters I sent home and needs more work, but I think it will answer some of your questions about ports there

Thanks, MC. Very informative!!!

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Past Cruises Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

What is the crowd like on a Southern cruise? We are thinking of taking a Royal Caribbean cruise to the region next May, and I will have my kids with me - a 21 yr old and an 18 year old.

Welcome to CLF, Christineann!

It probably depends on the time of year; we went in mid-Sept and there were a lot of families, and a lot of couples without children. Since it was hurricane season, they apparently had offered special rates in Puerto Rico, and there was a large Latino crowd, with multigenerational families. (We left out of San Juan). But there was a wide assortment of people overall.

My feeling is that if you go on a big enough ship, there will be something for everyone.

With a May time frame it depends..........early May will have virtually few children.......if you can wait until the end of May when school begins letting out, you should have plenty of kids........but at age 21 and 18, they should find plenty to do no matter what time of year you travel. Good Luck.

Who sails to Dominica?

Which cruise line(s) go there...sounds delightful.

We were on Carnival (Destiny). We were also traveling with a Royal Caribbean ship. At each port we were at, they were there too. I'm sure there are more lines that go there though. These are the only two I noticed though.

Dark - Boston?
