Fuel Prices

So, I’m sure this has made it’s way to the posting board somewhere, and if it has, I’m sorry if it’s a repeat….

As of February 1st, any reservations made for a cruise, the up to the first TWO passengers, will be charged $5 per day up to $70 max for a fuel charge. The price can also flexible, which means it, could go up or down.

If I read it correctly, if you have made a reservation paid in full, or have the reservation paid off by the February 1st date, it will not apply to you. It’s only for reservations that are made after the February 1st date.

I have checked both RCC and Carnival and both are doing it so I’m sure the others are doing it as well….

Hey Mel

All the cruise lines are imposing fuel surcharges (Disney hasn't announced yet, but all the others have). There are varying rules for each cruise line. Some have higher than $5 per day per person.

You can find posts about this on each of our cruise line forums......these and more

I think this is a fee that is here to stay!

I think the key phrase here is "at the moment" The cruise lines will eventually get it from all of us one way or another.

You know, the more I think about it, it's not that bad as of yet. I have an SUV that takes me about $40+ a week when I have to fill it up. I also have an Honda Si that takes premium, and we ALL KNOW thats not cheap either. I'll just look at it as my "gas for the week...." lol

Even though this is -another- gas charge of the many being imposed by varied industries I do have to agree that it could be worse.
