Princess has a 14 day cruise from Barbados which makes a call in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. You'd need a week there to really soak in the sights and culture of the island.

To get the boat to take you to the reef, it's a short walk from the Crown Point Airport. You'll be taken to the reef and the Nylon Pool, a shallow section of water where you can see the sea floor very clearly, hence the name, "nylon pool". You can jump out the boat and wade in the water there.
