Heck, for 25 years I worked with attorneys everyday, why would I want to swim with them???
thats a good one. Luckily, the attorneys I work for aren't like that. I couldn't imagine working for attorneys that do litigation. Transactional only is the way to go!
Anyhow, back on topic. I actually think that swimming with sharks would be fun! A great adventure!
As a scuba diver, I rather scuba dive with them than be in a pen snorkeling with them. (Nurse shark or whatever)...I don't think I'd be happy about coming face-to-face with a great white or a mako, but I've also learned much about these creatures that I am "starting" to overcome my fear and realize that the chances of seeing these great beasts are rare...so I don't let it stop me from diving.
Annora-
I have snorkeled in many of the Caribbean posts over the years and have never seen a shark yet. I am a total snorkel buff, but have no burning desire to swim with nurse sharks or any other kind of shark. It was fascinating watching the 500 lb tarpons down below me, but being on coumadin (a blood thinner) I think it'd be more prudent to stay away from anything attracted to blood.
P.S. I hope to swim with the dolphins with my son in Curacao this year though!

Has anyone every seen any sharks while at any of the ports?
When I was in Tahiti "Swimming with the Sharks" was one of the excursions. We chose to feed the stingrays instead.
But my childhood was in Florida, and I saw plenty of sharks growing up. We had nurse sharks and hammerhead sharks all over the place near where I lived, and spotting them was as common as seeing a seagull. At a really young age I could tell the difference between a dolphin's dorsal fin and a shark's dorsal fin...important lessons for a beach kid!
I believe you're right that they are nurse sharks, but I have to disagree with you....swimming with a Mako or a Great White would be A LOT different than swimming with a nurse shark!
I agree, a shark is Not a shark, you said a mouth full. I have no idea why I will want to swim with them Nurse Shark or not? :thumbsdow

I think they are amazing creatures that are to be respected. I wouldn't mind swimming/scuba diving and seeing one...from a distance though.......a far distance!!!
