I sail weekly on Raritan Bay here in NJ and some occassions the weather is just perfect. Clear blue skies, clear sight lines all the way to New York City, the Verrazzano Bridge and Coney Island. Yesterday was one of those days and as we were getting ready to go out to our race yesterday evening, out from under the Verrazzano Bridge comes the Caribbean Princess. I hadn't seen her "live" since May 2008, when we saw her docked in St. Thomas and stopped on our way to the airport to take a few pics with her, having not done so on our cruise that Feb.

Although we were some distance away, she was easily recognizable and I could just make out the "Sea Witch" on her stack. It was just like seeing an old friend again and although I had to get ready and think about the race at hand, it was nice to think about the time we spent onboard.

I occasionally took glaces over to watch her move out of the lower bay, past Coney Island, Sandy Hook, and out into the open ocean where she slowly disappeared over the horizon.
