No not packing yet. Not even for our May trip.

    Thanks for coming by.

Sure would have plenty of time to visit. We booked on our cruise to Alaska last September. So it will be 15 months between cruises.Longest we have had to wait. Jean still works so we have to go by her vacation days and others she works with.

you bet, stay in touch & when it gets closer, maybe can arrange a meeting. when you know how long your layover is, might even be able to take you into city for a bit. we both work but hubby gets more vac time than me, plus our grandkids live in Ga so alot of vac time is spent with them. but always save one week a yr for our own R&R.

    Hi there once again.

Think we got wires crossed abit. I didn`t fall for the 15 hours. We have 2 1/2 hours in Atlanta. Much more easy to deal with. Would be fun to visit though. We have two kids. Both live in other states. Our daughter lives in Columbia Missouri with her husband. And our son lives in Grayslake Illinois. He got married just a couple of years ago. No grands here. This arm of the family tree is going to be real short.

We have a couple of weeks a year that we do just what we want too.Cruising and a road trip. That one is on our anniversary week. This year we are going to Eureka Springs Arkansas. Knock around see the sights. Have fun and get away from home for awhile. Most years we see the kiddos once or twice depending on their schedules. Can`t get them to cruise with us though. Well our son did once with a former girl friend. We did not know they were breaking up.So now he says he has had enough. Son in law just says he doesn`t want to go.

Sure that is way more info than you wanted to hear.

Hi there, sorry for the mix-up, would have been nice to meet you in person and get to show you our fabulous city. we live out on the island but take the train into the city 3-4x's a year. it's amazing, have lived here all my life and still haven't seen it all.
but at least your flight is sounding alot better. hubbys' mom live in Medina OH and to get from here to there ( a straight line) have to go down to Baltimore MD and then back up, unless want to pay alot more for the tkt. and the airlines cry they are going broke ???

feel bad for your son & son-in-law, what an experience they are missing !! my husband had a real bad experience on his 1st (w/o me, we were just friends at the time), Norwegian line, they filed for bankruptcy while the ship was sailing, so one port was cancelled, all extra food was stopped, and alot of on board activites were cancelled. they spent 2 days at sea ( Gulf of Mexico) just sailing in circles till time for it to go back to port. so when I decided to go on another one, he said no way. fine w/ me, I was going, doesn't bother me to go places alone. I like my company. but as he watched me researching itineraries, looking at the ships etc and realized I was going no matter what, he decided to try again. went eastern caribbean, on the RCCL Jewel of the Seas, she had been sailing only for @ 5 mos at the time. She's gorgeous btw. It was wonderful and he loved every min of it. even got him to swim w/ the dolphins ( he doesn't know how to swim, I know, how can you live on an island & not know how??) he wouldnt ride one like I did but got in the water and played w/ them etc. so no trouble getting him to agree to this one !! haha.

after this want to go to alaska next. that will be in @ 3 yrs. in between going to disney next yr w/ grandkids & daughter. yes, 1 child = 7 grandkids. following yr want to go to the FL keys, start at Miami and drive down all the way to Key West. then Alaska cruise.

get all the vac in now, soon as those grankids start coming, esp w/ your children living away from home too, it will be harder to get that time in for yourselves. but always make the time for you both !! we can't wait for another few yrs so can start taking some of ours on cruises, will start out on 3-4 day ones till see how they like them.

well rambled on enough here. nice talking to you. have to stay in touch once in awhile. we're both " orphans" here, no-one is joining us.

Be nice if there were grand kids. But medical reasons in both pair say it is not going to happen. They both have 4 legged "Kids".Son has a wiemeraner he raised from a pup. And they just adopted a greyhound who is dumb as a box of rocks. His words not mine. Our daaughter has three cats and a half grown yellow lab mix. All very friendly now that they know we aren` going to swipe their food or something like that.

We have sailed on the Explorer and Voyager of the Seas. Bigger ships. But real beauties. We had a wonderful time on them. Our "worst" time cruising happened on Celebrity`s Century. We got stuck out to sea for an extra 2 days. Port of Miami was closed because of a hurricane. Only heard one person complain. The crew was the very best help. We got our airline tickets redone and a hotel booked onboard. And since we had cruise insurance we got our money back for the hotel and our meals.

We have swam with the stingyrays while on Grand Cayman. That was fun too. Some day we will go in with the dolphins. Its funny since neither of us swims. Jean did the parasailing on one of the cruises. We figured my back should not be doing something like that.

    Talk later.

Hi again, shame @ your children & kids, but it's not the end of the world and sounds like it's not something that any of you are obsessing about. it is what it is. We love animals, had a cat for 16yrs, and hubby always had labs & I grew up w/ Belgian long haired Shepherds. But with all the traveling we do, it's too much for us, to arrange pet sitting, etc.plus not fair to the pet. so make do w/ daughters 3 dogs, 10 cats, horse and goat ! haha. she lives on 9 acres down in Ga and is surrounded by cow farms.
got a kick out of the "dumb as box of rocks" saying, never heard it before.
loved your pictures !! how was it sailing from Ca to Alaska, how was the water, calm etc? I get seasick easy so stay away from the lg oceans.
This cruise will have a digital camera so will be able to load them on computer and then figure out how to get them over here so you'll be able to see the ship. with the refurbishing of it in Jan this yr, she should look real good. Like the looks of the "Sanctuary", have a day at sea so will take advantage of it then. only thing, was on another site that a "newbie" here mentioned for seeing your" cabin" and the pic of it there was comp. diff then the one Princess has on their site?? so am confused as to what cabin is like. have a balcony on Aloha deck (505) but the pics on the other site, makes it look like a mini suite. think will go with the cruise line pics. but do know Princess was changing /adding cabins while refurbishing. guess will see in @ 6 wks. ha.
wanted to do parasailing too but have herniated disks in neck plus a plate from prev disk repairs. so that's not in my "allowed" to do list anymore. was thinking of doing the skimming over the rain forest in one of those harness things but VP of my company just came back from cruise to caribbean on Ruby Princess, he did it and he said he was petrified, this is a man who backpacks all over europe w/o any plans, been on safaris etc. he's @ our age. so if he says he was scared then think will stick to the ground tour. ha.

have a good day. later to both of you. Debbie

Know about disc problems.3 operations in just about a year on L5 S1. All causing excessive scar tissue to grow into my spinal cord. So no parasailing for me. Jean had a blast doing it though. She says if she gets a chance she will do it again.

I did not know they were remodeling the ship. That`s good to know.I will have to tell Jean. We haven`t ever done a balcony. Got such a goodprice when we booked onboard we did get an ocean view. EE. That`s the ones with no life boats in the way. We are on Plaza deck. Lowest since we were on our first cruise on Disney Magic.

The Pacific was nice and calm for us.And we were on deck 12 if I remember rightly. So if it was too rough we would have felt the motion. We have had rougher seas in the Caribbean than anything on that trip.

I have a new digital to go on this cruise. Just wasn`t happy with the old one. It just had the screen. Could not see what you were taking the picture of.Got a Canon Powershot with a view finder. It has been great so far. Both of my laptops have card readers on them so all I have to do is pull the card from the camera and put it in the card slot and follow directions. No cords to bother with. Have a netbook that I will be taking for the first time too. Only weighs 2 lbs. Better than the old Dell was to carry around.

    You have a fine Friday.John

TGIF, hope you & Jean have a good week-end. Ours is the last quiet one will have till we sail !! Was going over the calendar last night and every wknd is booked !! Not sure how we let that happen.

WOW, 3 surgeries in a year !! that's tough, no wonder have scar tissue !! My disk surgeries didn't leave scar tissue (c2/c3, c4/ c5) still have to get c1 fused.holding off on that one, too close to the brain stem. But cause of the plate on the others, C7 is now deteriating, it's the only one that can rotate. So am really thinking twice before go in for anymore. If get c7 fixed does that mean c8 will go next & on & on? plus my neurosurgeon retired to become like a T/S for operating rooms, goes around the country helping to update & clean them up. now have to find a new one, he was the Top surgeon in NYC.

so far have had "glass like" water on the Caribbean cruises. lets hope the record doesn't get broken. I heard about the higher up you go, the more feel the movement. AFTER, the cruise line up graded us !! Our org booking was cancelled, seems a movie co, rented the ship for 3 wks in April so we got "bumped". moved to 5/3 sailing, Princess up graded us (2 decks higher), shipboard credit of 250.00ea and paid all our fees to have flt plans changed and it was no hardship on us which date went. but since the upgrade, have heard about the decks & movement. too late now. will get SS med before leave, just in case. if this is true, why are the cabins on upper decks more $ and why would you want to go there then?

theres some pics of some of the changes they made somewhere on this site, forgot which thread. if get chance will do some searching or you can ask Char, she was part of the thread too.

your camera sounds real nice. ours is about 2 yrs old, it's a HP, has a nice screen but have trouble seeing it in the sun, so just have to look w/ naked eye, line up pic and snap and hope it worked. thank goodness can see it asap, ha. would like to get a newer one. a friend lent us a waterproof 35 mm to use when snorkeling and in the water. very heavy, so might just buy a throwaway water proof one.
No laptop yet but want one someday. that's cool about just plugging into it w/o cables. between Ipod cable and camera one, got confused when hooking up to PC. so leave the Ipod one plugged in 24/7 now. am always downloading music on it anyway.

Enjoy and talk to you soon. take care Debbie

That`s rough looking for another surgeon. I hate changing doctors. Almost as bad as moving. We have been in the same house almost 32 years. Daughter was just 2 years and son was 4. My first two operations were 6 weeks apart. Blew out the same disc getting up from a nap. That time felt 100 times worsethan the first time I injured it. Good luck on finding a new surgeon.

We got upgraded once. From an inside to an ocean view. That was on Carnival Pride. It was almost brand new. A really nice ship. Want to sail on it again.

Two of my laptops are almost brand new. The acer has an 8.9 inch screen. That is the one that only weighs 2 lb. The other is a Gateway 16.9 inch screen. That replaces an old pc for the house. No travel with that monster.

It is almost my bed time so I`ll wish you a good weekend too. We have a quiet one planned.
