    Tenerife, Canary Islands

We took a ship's tour here (4x4 tenerife Adventure) which was a 4-1/2 hour drive up to Mt. Teide and back. We drove through the National Park of Las Canadas with photo stops along the way. Mt. Teide has an elevation of 12,198 ft. (the highest in all of Spain) and we saw a variety of different landscapes as we traveled upward. Be sure to bring a sweater with you on this tour. It's chilly in the upper elevations.

This picture was taken as we drove up to Mt. Teide. There were 15 jeeps in all.

Our first view of Mt. Teide--magnificant! We're above the clouds.

There were a lot of interesting rock formations surrounding Mt. Teide and the landscape was fascinating. Some of the movie "Star Wars" was filmed here.

The port city was Santa Cruz de Tenefire which has approximately 225,000 people. The port itself has few tourist attractions but the island itself has many and I hope to return someday and see more of it.

Oh Joey, I hope you can! They are wonderful and we've gotten to visit so many places I never thought I'd ever see. If I can help talk him into it, let me know!

    Thanks Garry......
I got a good hubby .. all i really have to say is I want to go....its me convincing me ...that is where the true conflict comes in...

I wonder which flavor brand we should do..Now that I am going to be a TA I can no longer have favorites... although i do retain the right to maintain my preferences..
