Has anyone ever packed wine into your luggage when travelling to Canada? And if so, what was your experience?

From the information that I can find, Delta airlines has no problem with you packing wine into checked luggage (properly contained), but that Canada only allows 2 bottles per person into the country duty free. Has anyone ever done this?

We are cruising this upcoming May and have certain wines that we like that I cannot find on lists supplied from wine stores in Canada, nor the cruisline.
