Would love to get some more info about stops on the cruise I'm taking. We leave from NYC, with stops in Boston, Portland Me, St John and Halifax. I've never been to that part of the country so its all an adventure. Any and all tips and suggestions will be appreciated. Only 38 days, oh its exciting!!!!

    Hey Sue

Did you look at the STICKY posts right above your posts here? There is recent info for a couple of your ports of call.

We did the Grandeur of the Seas last September out of Baltimore to Bar Harbor, St. John, Halifax, Portland, and Boston. It was absolutely wonderful! You will thoroughly enjoy these ports. There's lots to see and alot of history. The people and the food are great.

What do you like to do when in port? Let me know and I will dream up some good things to do and see for you. I know a ton about most of your ports. Also, Char is right...make sure to check out the stickies, as well as some of the other sites, we run, linked in those stickys, for some additional port activity information.

    cheers,
    tim

Thanks, Tim. I'll organize my thoughts and get back to you. I haven't found too much on any of the boards about this cruise, although the ones I see speak highly of it. We're excited. Never been to that part of the country. Our traveling friends are from California and it will be all new for them as well. I have some walking limitations so have to consider that as well.

Char thanks for your input as well. I did read and do read all I can find.

I look forward to hearing back from you and will keep those limitations in mind when I make some recommendations to you.

I am so glad you have decided to explore this area via a cruise. You won't regret it.

    cheers,
    tim

We like Boston very much and it is very interesting and historical.

A around the city tour would show you everything.

If you like to stretch your legs, there are also walking tours especially of the Freedom Trail within the city proper.

You can also have or share a pint at the Bull & Finch - "Cheers".

Portland is very nice. We even went shopping at their state known store
    of LL Bean.

Halifax we went on tour of the Maritime Museum which includes the artifacts of the Titanic. Also in town is the cemetery where many were
buried from the Titanic. Very sad but interesting to read the Tombstones
    of the victims.

We also did the Around The Town tours and seen much of the town.

Climbed the Citadel (Fort) and got a very good view of Halifax.

There is also a walkway by the Harborside.
