First half of October 2003 in NCL Norwegian Crown. Kinda small and kinda old, but still quite nice. Not much color in Bar Harbor, a little better in Halifax and Sydney, and spectacular in Quebec. We took a "Quebec Countryside" tour and the Autumnal coloration was as good as I have ever seen, especially on Ile d'Orlean. I live in the Appalachian deciduous forest, and we are quite proud of our fall colors, but Quebec was the best.
Another interesting thing about the cruise was that it started and ended in Baltimore, an easy drive for me. That also meant that the cruise went through both the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal and the Cape Cod Canal. That was cool.
On the way from Quebec to Boston, we experienced a major storm, and it was a rough ride. We were nine hours late getting into Boston. Of the three cruises I have taken, this is the one that I would consider repeating.
