DH and I are considering the Canada/New England Fall Foliage cruise.Does anybody have any experience with this cruise? What is the weather like on the open decks for that time of year? Which week is the best to cruise to see the best colors? If you have done this cruise would you recommend it? Thanks in advance for any input.

I loved Can/NE. However for fall foliage you need to go towards the last week in Sept/first week in Oct. I went only Sept 11 2004 and the leaves were only starting to change color!

The weather was still pretty mild out on deck. Not nearly as cold as I thought it would be. Besides, you're from MI where it gets cold anyways, so it shouldn't be too much of a change for you.

Great pics and review.Thanks so much for the reply. Hopefully we will look forward to this cruise in fall of 2006. As our next cruise is quickly approaching it's time to start planning for next year's cruises.

Here we are in the last week of September and our leaves are just beginning to turn. My advice would be to cruise the first or second week of October to get the best results. I've been in Quebec near mid October and it was like the hills were on fire. We get that here too. Many things can have an effect on the leaves. If we get a big windstorm, as we are tonight, we can lose alot of leaves overnight.

As for weather, I've seen it quite cold in early October, but it can also be quite warm. In recent years we've been tending to be on the warm side. Dress in layers to be ready for what ever nature throws at you.

Joe where in NB do you live? One of our favorite stops on our Can/NE cruise was Saint John! lovely city!

We're about 70 miles upriver from there, just outside Fredericton, the capital city of the province. Both DW and I were born in Saint John and brought up there. It's changed alot since those days.

thats amazing to hear you say that.

i thought it was a lovely city. the market was really neat.

and then we did the ride the rapids tour at the bay of fundy! that was memorable!
