I think you'll enjoy it John. Lots of history in our area, and some really great scenery. IMHO the East Coast rivals the West Coast for scenery. We did the Big Sur area and Cape Breton in the same year. Both spectacular.

My Canada/New Englad cruise in 2004 was one of my favorites in terms of port cities and scenery. Its so gorgeous there in Can/NE and if you are a fan of lighthouses at all, then this is a must do.

As Kat mentioned above, Peggy's Cove outside of Halifax is a MUST DO!

Peggy's Cove Lighthouse has the reputation of being the most photographed lighthouse in the world

I did my share:

You might notice in the second picture that the First Mate's sweatshirt has pictures of the North Carolina Outer Banks Lighthouses on it. We seek out lighthouses when we travel.

The third picture was taken at the Peggy's Cove site but is looking in a southeasterly direction from the lighthouse. That is the First Mate and me.

Thumbs up

I haven't cruised to Nova Scotia, but I know a lot of the East Coast cruises stop there for their foreign port. I've taken a land vacation on Nova Scotia, and it is a beautiful, fascinating place, and you will love it. Halifax is a wonderful port city, remeniscent of San Francisco and Montreal, only on a much smaller scale. I say go for it!!!
