We loved looking at all the lighthouses - even brought home a model of one as well as Swarovski crystal one.

I live on Aquidneck Island. That is the same one that Newport is on. I am only about 8 miles from Newport. I work on the border of Newport and Middletown. It is a great place to live.

We take our kayaks out to the beach. It is a lot of fun to ride the surf with it. If we want a more mellow ride we enter the water in Portsmouth.

From Labor Day to Memorial Day it doesn't cost to park at First Beach ( Easton's Beach ). Also that is when dogs are allowed on the beach.

This is a picture of me with our dog Lucky at Sandy point beach in Portsmouth. They allow the dogs on the beach. Parking is free to residents.

Brenton Point is beautiful too! So is Fort Adams. These are both state parks in Newport.

I don't live as close as you do Mystery Gal, but it's only a 45 min drive. We go as often as possible.

Kitty it is good to have someone else to help me add to this list. Those were some I thought I would get some pictures of to add. If you look at my pictures you will see there is one of the Queen Mary 2 taken at Fort Adams. It was the 4th of July her first year out.

That's a great pic MG! I saw The World cruise ship anchored off Newport for Tall Ships in 2004! Too bad I didn't get a shot of it. Sorry those Brenton Point pics are so small. I never have any luck trying to post decent sized pics here.
