OWS Attempts Shutdown of Ports on West Coast

News outlets are reporting that the Occupy Wall Street organizxation is targeting all ports on the U.S. West Coast for protest and shutdown. They say they will attempt to "occupy" and shutdown every major port from San Diego to Anchorage .

    Has your cruise been affected?

Have you seen any evidence of this? What?

I believe the only cruise ports operating on the west coast this time of year are San Pedro, Long Beach and San Diego. The protesters have been trying to shut down container terminals.

Currently in Seattle the protesters have blocked the entrance to Terminal 18, south of downtown. They are not making a lot of friends among the workers that are trying to get home from working downtown or the football fans trying to get to the Monday Night Football game.

I saw a story on the early morning news yesterday showing the protesters showing up at the Port of Long Beach, and I wondered how that would affect those going there a few hours later to board the Carnival Paradise. I don't think there were any departures from the Port of LA (San Pedro), but I would have to check the calendar on the port's website.

I didn't hear any more news about this so maybe it didn't work out for the OWLB-ers.
