A major construction project that has been ongoing in LA will have a major milestone in a few weeks that may affect anyone wanting to play tourist:
Weekend Closure Looms for 405 Freeway | NBC Los Angeles
Two major museums (Skirball and Getty) will be closed during the weekend involved as there won't be any access to them. It's predicted that alternative routes (Sepulveda Blvd., Beverly Glen, etc.) will be jammed pack. If you want to go to the beaches and will be coming from the north (such as the San Fernando Valley), it's probably a good idea to go up to Kanan Dune and take that route. Once you hit PCH, you can travel to Santa Monica if that's your desired destination.
I plan to stay in the Valley that weekend.
