    November weather in San Diego

On a military retiree's chat board, I asked what we could expect in the way of weather and temps 10/31 - 11/11. One resident smart aleck posted this:

OK Here is what you can expect for your time frame
    Daytime Temps 58-110
    Night Temps 48-85
    Humidity 5-100%
    Sunny Maybe
    Raining Maybe
    Foggy Maybe
    Windy Maybe
    Expensive Yes
This time of the year is usually hot dry and windy, but.........
Just come prepared for that and cold wet and foggy.
    Sorry
Oh, don't listen to the 7/39 TV Weather Guy. Joe flunked Crystal Ball Gazing I and hasn't a clue.

So, now will one of my cruise buddies give me a better picture?

We go down to SD during the Thanksgiving season all the time...While 'anything' can happen in CA (unprdictable weather) usually, the weather is about 65-80 during the day and into the 40s-50s at night. Humidity can range from about 40 to 100% and Sun/Rain/Fog could happen..usually when we go it's Sunny in the day and foggy in the evening...but we've hit rain before too!

The problem with CA is it IS that unpredictable!!!

Sorry, you will have to wait until a few days before you leave to find out. The prior posters are right, there is no way to tell in advance. Typically, we have nice weather in So Cal until January or so. But, we can get cool weather and rain, too. I'm farther north than San Diego, in Orange County and a bit inland. Most years we are wearing short sleeves at Christmas. San Diego can get a bit cooler than here and a little more overcast.

I agree with the above.... we were in San Diego around that time.

The weather is usually mild in November. Chance of rain but overall should be pretty nice.

I just checked my roll call and a British couple were asking what weather to expect for their pre-cruise stay in LA (I think they're also going to try to go down to SD too). I tried telling them a few months ago that it's hard to predict as the weather can range from the 50s to the 80s. But the wife is pushing for info so she can finalize her packing. So I'm researching weather.com and other sites and will give them the averages as best I can. Myself, I haven't put aside any clothes yet. Just haven't packed away all my summer clothes until a week or so before.

From October thru March planning for weather in San Diego is like going on an Alaskan cruise. Now don't laugh I mean pack for layers. Mornings can be very cool about 50 degrees and with the humidity can feel even colder. Daytime can get to 80 but most likely mid 60's to low 70's then by night feel down right cold again. Now if you are down by the waterfront and Sea Port Village or out at Dana Point dress warm. Now if you are traveling from up north where it is cold already it may feel a bit warm but don't let the sun fool you.

I grew up in San Diego and didn't own a winter coat. It is usually decent weather in November. I mean you can still wear shorts. Then again there was this one year that we did get snow in San Diego. However, that happens about every 20 or 50 years or so and melts before it hits the ground.

You know the song...It never rains in California.........it pours man it pours. It can rain rivers.

Last week it was in the 80's. I have a sister there I can call and ask the weather if you really really want me to.
