RE THE FIRES

We watch the news of the high winds wildly fanning the fires in California with great concern for the safety of our members in the Golden State.

We know there are a good number of you, but do not know who among you may be near or in the thick of things. We hope none!

Please check in on this thread and let us know that you and yours are safe ... or if you are in danger.

It might also be a good idea if you would send your contact information - by PM - to another CLF member that you trust. (Preferably someone outside California) That way, if we don't hear from you after a while, we will have a way to check on you.

Thanks for your concern. Although Bakersfield is in no current danger from the fires, we are experiencing air quality issues from some of the fires in adjacent counties. The central coast fires could be a greater air quality issue if the winds
change direction.

We too are not in danger from the fires, they are all around us and the air is hard to breathe but that is the least of what others are going through. The high winds have calmed somewhat, still gusting but not at 50 mpg at least! Damage is minimal for us (broken fence).

We have been having power outs but so far they only seem to last a few hours, we have a generator so our freezers won't thaw.

Just in case my personal contacts are (Janice) Stanford's girl, many of the Ya Ya's (Ladies Only Cruise) have my contact info as well as Reggierail!

We are safe in the San Francisco Bay Area.......

The only cruiser I know for sure in the Malibu area is Ernie. I have posted on the freedom cabin thread for him to check in.

What about the San Diego area? Anyone there that you know of?

Someone lives in Temucula..forgot who. Thats' fairly close to SD

There are a few CLF members going on the Spirit cruise in 2 weeks from the SD area. Several have been posting on the group thread and are OK for the moment.

Ernie, I think, is a ways north of Malibu and should be OK.
