Getting to the train station from San Pedro

From time to time, I've seen questions regarding getting to the Amtrak station after a cruise. I was just looking at the San Pedro website about some other question and found this:

The World Cruise Center has Amtrak California Bus service from the San Pedro Thruway bus stop at the Catalina Terminal located at Berth 95. There is a free shuttle bus from the WCC. this station is unstafffed and there is no ticket, baggage, or package express services. The bus service can be used to connect with nationwide Amtrak service at the Los Angeles Union Station. Further info can be obtained by calling (800) USA-RAIL.

You can read the original info at:
sanpedro.com/spcom/crusshp.htm (sorry, for some reason I can't seem to copy and paste from this page)

this site has the bus schedules == see page 17 for the bus between San Pedro and Union Station (unless this pdf gets changed and the pages change). It looks like you should allow a minimum of two hours of travel between the two places.

It seems you do need to have an Amtrak ticket to show the driver (for whatever train trip you have) so keep that handy before you start waiting for the bus. Also note that if you are traveling later in the afternoon, add some time to those two hours because of rush hour traffic.

The Amtrak bus stop at the Catalina Express Terminal has facilities inside of the terminal. Snack bar with a wide choice of beverages and food, bathrooms and phones. The Amtrak bus will allow baggage to be placed in the baggage compartments under the bus. The bus will also make a stop in Long Beach then on to Union Station.
