If you think we would be better off just staying in the tourist area around the hotel, let me know that too. We will have most of the day there. Our flight comes in at 10:30 and our cruise is the next day. Maybe we will take a nap before we head out to explore.
Actually I was referring to "Royal Palm Beach." It doesn't sound familiar to me.

No problem, Char. I should have referred to that name in my earlier post. I might not know of every beach and hotel in Southern California so I hope hrt4girls posts some info on this place.

Hi
I am sorry to confuse you. There is a beach that I found a small bit of info on. I think it is like a state park. It talked about being a rocky coast and had tide pools. Since we are not going to have a car, I wanted to make sure it was worth the cab fare. I will keep looking to see what else I can find out about it.

Otherwise, we will just stay near the Crowne Plaza that day. I am sure that we will be able to find things to keep us busy.

There is plenty to do near the CP.

Maritime Museum and Port's 'O Call village, where you can find many places to eat and shop. A pretty touristy area though but right on the water and a pleasant place to spend some time. If you have a little extra time stop by the Fire Department fire boat station. I have heard that if not busy they will give you a touer of the station and maybe even one of the boats.

Thanks

I think staying near the hotel will be our plan. After an early flight we might not feel all that inclined to be exploring if there is a nice area right there.
