Talking Cabin Does not matter to me.

    Hello Everyone,

In my opinion, the cabin does not matter to me, I can be in an inside cabin, because all I do is just shower, change, sleep a few hours and I am out from the room again. I do not spend a lot of time in the room. Its a place where I keep my stuff and I don't want to waste vacation time by spending hours and hours and hours in a room when I can be out, enjoying the ship and its ammenities, and enjoying the destinations, interacting with other cruisers, making friends, going to the nightly entertainment, dining, so on and so forth and if I want to nap on the ship, I can just go on deck, enjoy the beautiful sailing, and have a breath of clean fresh air.

Although ordering room service is nice and you eat in your room and stuff which is nice, but I think its better to dine out and see people and just enjoy the ambience....

I agree, but if the price difference isn't too much I do like looking out when I wake up and standing on a balcony while waiting for my wife to get ready. I have stayed inside twice, oceanview once and balcony once andI only sleep, nap and wash there. I did have room service breakfast when we had an early excursion but that would be nicer on a balcony, but could be done inside.

Funny how peoples opinions vary. We love our balcony and use it frequently.
    I won't sail without one.

I agree with Hanna. Am looking at the NCL 1-2 day weekend cruised out of NYC just for fun and even want a balcony for that!

We go out on the Balcony several times a day. We enjoy the sail away in our private space and it is just nice...

Again, what is right for us is wrong for you! If you are happy with an inside, save your money and enjoy your cruise your way!

Another reason I love cruising - each person on that ship is going to the same places but can have completely different vacations -- cool huh?

For our first 33 cruises we had the same feelings. We always felt that we would prefer to cruise more often rather than pay the extra. We booked our first balcony and have only had insides a couple times since. Now that money is not as much of an issue we really enjoy having a balcony.

When we retire we plan on doing a lot of cruising. At that time we will re-think how much more cruising we can do if it inside.

I am happy in any grade of cabin and always book an inside. I have been lucky enough to be upgraded to a balcony and if I had the money I would book one. But when it comes to one cruise in a balcony cabin or two cruises in an inside cabin, it's an easy choice.

Having been on 41 cruises and all types of cabins from inside, oceanview, promenade, balcony, junior suite, and grand suite, we much prefer any cabin with a balcony than an inside or oceanview cabin any day.

While sometimes we do an inside cabin because of the cost, if we have the money, we will always go for a balcony.

But as was stated, everyone is different and what one person loves, another will hate, so it really depends on what you want, what you can afford, and what you like to do.

Balcony for me. Nothing better than waking up early in the morning and going out on your private balcony. I still remember leaving the port of St. Johns, Newfoundland as the sun was coming up. The hillside was close enough that we could almost touch it and the cool crisp air was unbelievable. I would have missed it if I did not have a balcony.

On the other extreme, the balcony on the Noordam was a lifesaver. I caught Noro while on the ship and was confined to my cabin for three days. If it were not for the balcony and the little bit of fresh air that I got, I would have gone crazy. Nothing to do since most of the television stations were in Spanish. It was a miserable cruise.

I love balconies, especially our most recent wrap around, kept the door open all night to listen to the water as it was sired up by the engines below us.. so relaxing!

Hi As with many things there is no right or wrong answer, it's all down to personal preferences. If money is no object than I can understand why people would chose the best. This isn't so in my case. I prefer to cruise in a cheap cabin on a "better" cruise line than have a better cabin on an inferior cruise line. However, even this is due to my personal preferences what I consider a better cruise line others may not!
