Does the overhang on the hump balconies make the cabins dark? I've not experienced an overhang before so I don't know if they create too much shade at all?

Your cabin isn't on what is traditionally called the "hump"....1547 is located where the ship angles in between the bow and mid ship. The overhang is only out to the balcony railing. There are only 2 cabins that are on the angle. The cabins behind yours all have more overhang...your cabin isn't dark at all!
