aft junior suite (deck 7) on the RCL Navigator of the Seas.

Let me know if I should post this as a separate thread, but we just booked an aft junior suite (deck 7) on the RCL Navigator of the Seas. I was looking for some feedback on those staterooms. Are they any larger than the non-aft junior suites? How is the privacy and, most importantly, does smoke from other aft stateroom affect your private area.

There are pluses and minuses to the aft junior suites on the Voyager class ships. These pictures are from an aft JR on deck 7 of the Mariner of the Seas. The balconies are considerably larger that other JR's, we had 2 loungers, 2 chairs and plenty of walking room. The down side is that there is structure beyond the rail that does effect the view somewhat.

I will add that other than an occasional crew member cleaning that section of deck 6 beyond the balcony was now used.

It's hard to see how good the view is from those stateroom especially the lower decks on the back. what are the cons on the Voyager class aft staterooms? Also, I'm still looking for feedback on whether smoke from people smoking on their aft balconies is an issue or not. We were VERY disapointed by the presence of smoke from people smoking around us (nearby balconies) when we sailed on the Allure OTS. We only enjoyed our balcony about 10% of the time we wanted due to that. I was very outspoken on the survey I returned.

Whoops! Missed the part about the obstructions to the view. Sorry.

The Aft Jr. Suites rooms are very roomy and the same with the balconies but the fact that you have no view at all is a big turn off to me. We never noticed any smoke from other balconies.

I'll look for another thread to post on but we decided to upgrade from a Jr. Suite to a Grand Suite and it was worth it for the extra room, and especially the perks you get with RCL's enhanced suite program.
