    Aft cabins on Celebrity Solstice

Hope I've done this okay - we are naive cruisers and we are curious about aft cabins on the Solstice. Has anyone got any knowledge, first-hand or other, of these cabins. Pictures would be useful also. Have heard noise and soot can be a problem - also how much privacy do you get? I like to sit on the balcony with my morning coffee and I'm NOT a pretty sight! Can't wait to hear from you.

A picture is worth a thousand words!
You can see for yourself if these aft balconies on Solstice give you the privacy you are looking for.

I have sailed in an aft cabin on the Solstice and it wasn't my best experience. Aft cabins have always been my favorites, but on the Solstice class they are not. There is no overhang except for the top deck and that's under the Oceanview Bar which can be a bit noisy at times. Because there is no cover, depending on the direction of the ship, the sunshine streams into your cabin and makes it too warm. We had to close our drapes during the day. We had soot on our balcony and chairs that had to be wiped off every day.

The best cabins on the Solstice class are the angled cabins on the hump in the middle of the ship. You really have to book early to get these as the word has spread about how nice they are.

Here's a picture looking down from the Oceanview Bar to the aft cabins. As you can see there's not much privacy.

Garry - that is impressive! As Char says it is worth far more than words can say. I had heard that the soot could be a problem and that when balconies get washed down, you had better not be snoozing on your balcony below!! Don't know how true that is though.

If you decide to book one of the aft cabins, be careful of which one you book. The verandas are not all the same size. If you look at the picture Char posted, you'll see that the cabins in the center of the ship (ex. 1208, 1206) are larger than the other ones. 1204 is the smallest and 1202 is a little bit larger.

Also, if you have rain, be sure to keep your balcony door closed. We went to sleep one night with it open and the next morning we had a wet carpet in front of the door.
