Do you carefully check the Deck Plans before booking your cabin?

I check out deck plans in general to see how big the dance floors are.
On my last cruise I did actually look carefully at our cabin location for the first time. We were offered an upgrade from inside to obstructed ocean view. I checked the locations and it looked like the upgrade was positioned over a bar. SO I turned down the upgarade. WHen i checked on the ship it was n't a noisy bar so it was not a good decision on my part.

I always check out the deck plans to see what's above, below, near the cabin and also the ease of getting around part (ie. how many decks to the food ). We prefer to take the stairs vs. using the elevators, but on formal night, I'm not climbing up 4 or more flights of them in a gown.

Ditto except for the formal night gown thing

I always check the deck plans but I am not as concerned as many are about what is above or below us. On our last cruise we were right under the buffet area and never heard a sound from it. It was nice to be only one flight of steps away. The thing we usually look for is to me near an elevator at the food end of the ship rather that the entertainment/spa end.

We were under a dining room once (we had been "upgraded" ha ha) and heard vacuuming late at night. So we do try to check out the deck plan.

We didn't have much of a choice last cruise as we booked it way after final payment. It was an obstructed OV, which wasn't a problem for us, but I was concerned about the nearby elevators. We didn't hear them at all.

We were over a bar, but that wasn't where the singing we would hear at night. At first, we thought our neighbors were singing, but it turned out to be from the Piazza. We were over the atrium and that had entertainment every night. But it didn't usually go past 11pm. And it wasn't too loud or bothersome for us. But I imagine some people would get peeved.

To be honest, we don't look carefully, but we skim them. We were happy with our previous cabin so we booked a cabin near it on our upcoming cruise...I believe cabins are above and below, no restaurants/lounges/discos.

I don't think I search carefully, but I have established certain wants over the years.

On a couple of Princess ships, I have identified specific cabins on Emerald Deck (one above Crooner's Bar!) which have full views, not partially obstructed. Those on the port side, where Cronner's is, were no noisier/quiter than any others.

A couple of my latest cruises on HAL I've booked a VF verandah on a guarantee basis, ended up with a VA in both cases. The location each time happened to meet my most wanted feature: close to an elevator.
