    Question traffic near elevators

Does anyoone hear people walking to and from the elevators while in a cabin near them? I'm thinking about sleeping in E721 on Princess to be as far away from the stern as possible and still have a covered balcony (Dolphin deck balconies are completely uncovered) in the cabin. For two people and 12 nights, a minisuite is required. But while the location looks perfect I'm wondering if families using the aft elevators can be heard from inside #721.

On any ship I've been on, I could never hear the elevators. Never. Now there you go, one less thing to worry about.

We've also had a cabin by the elevators and never heard a thing from the elevator area. We find it convenient to have a cabin near the elevators.

The elevators on all the ships we have been on are set in an alcove so they are not in the corridors where the cabin entrances are.

Never had any problem with elevator noise, either.

We've been near elevators and never had any problems with elevator noise, but then again, there are those signs posted that tell everyone standing around waiting for an elevator to make sure they talk and laugh very loudly! lol And the kids running up and down the stairwell can be annoying if you happen to be on a ship with alot of kids.

Sometimes people can be very ill-mannered while waiting for the elevator to arrive, especially those who are drunk!!

Most of the time, there aren't any problems, as has already been stated. The newer ships are much better at controlling the noise.

Personally, I much prefer to be closer to the middle of the ship away from the elevators and the traffic. Or if I can get them, I really like the aft cabins with balconies off the back of the ship.

I was asking about the people who use them, not the elevators themselves. If Char doesn't hear people in that area, I will not worry about it because she has cruised many times.

I try to avoid gettin a cabin close to the elevators or stairs because of the noise.
Always, always people seem to gather in the area, talking, laughing at all hours of the day. Its also a favoured place for little children to hang out and play.

If you can get a cabin far away from those areas....If you can you should get an aft cabin. Back there its smooth sailing and no noise what so ever

We actually try to book cabins near an elevator!

We've done this many times and have never had a problem with folks making noise.

I like to be quite mid ships so there is usually plenty of traffic, I have never found it a problem.
