Politely, may I ask?
"Why would anyone book a cruise where 'Spring-Break College Kids' might by some happenstance come along?"
Don't most frequent cruisers have more sense?

Just off a 9, 5 and 15 night cruise on Carnival's Spirit. Had 3 different cabins on deck 4 & 7. All were very close to the elevators and there was absolutely no problem with noise from the elevator area.

Colleges have made it harder to avoid spring cruises if the spring is the only time of year you can go on vacation. We were staying in Key West about ten years ago after getting off a cruise. It was only the second week of March. Our hotel was filled with college kids and an employee mentioned to me that nowadays colleges are staggering their spring break so that not all colleges are out at the same time. So unless you know this, you can run into spring breakers.

I have never had any problems with noise from the elevators or the people using them. In fact, I prefer to be near the elevators, because you have better access to them and the stairs.
We have had three cruises with cabins near elevators. Never a problem except that people seemed to park their motorized scooters near the elevators on some cruises.
