    bonus aft balcony on Splendor

So we found out by accident, that there are 2 aft balconies on the Carnival Splendor, that are about 4 feet wider than the rest. They are on deck 8 (Verandah) at the end just beside the corner wrap-around suites. For some reason, the suites' balconies don't extend as far around the aft as the actual cabin does. This means that cabins 8450 and 8461 actually have some bonus balcony. We just stayed in 8450, and when you walk out the door onto the balcony, your cabin ends about 6 inches to your right (which is where the other aft balconies would end because of the wall separating them with the cabin next door). However, our balcony extended another 4 feet to the right, because the wraparound suites' balconies are mostly along the side of the ship and only a very little bit on the aft. And for some reason this is only the case on deck 8, so the cabins I mentioned are the only 2 with this bonus space. So keep that in mind if you're booking the Splendor!!

We saw them when we were on the inaugural, but didn't take pictures. Very nice at any price.

That was actually just the first day on board (and yes, already sunburnt, but I did that in Long Beach!)... but yeah, getting away from retail for a week was lovely. Getting to do so on a really cool ship didn't hurt either
