If you were doing a full transit of the Panama Canal and the two in the poll were the only ones you'd consider, which cabin would you pick?![]()
Mini Suite ... Uncovered ... in what you feel is an inconvenient location.
Balcony cabin ... Covered ... in what you feel is a Great location.

Our First two cruises were outsides but the last four balconies. Since I've yet to step into the mini suite world I think I can live without it but I love having a covered balcony. We enjoy our privacy. Location, location, location in real estate applies as well on a great cruise ship.... Interesting poll and something to think about!

For sure the balcony with at least partial covering...especially for the Panama Canal itinerary! It is so hot and humid, no matter what time of year you are there.
Of course, on some of the Princess ships you have those wonderful Emerald Deck mini-suites with full overhang above them. That is what I would choose, if one was available. We had one on the Crown Princess and it was ideal.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
we did the PC with an AFT cabin.... the verandah was 75% covered.... we thought it was a great location
Appreciate the input! We did it! Booked for the great location and covered balcony!
Trying book as close to exactly what we wanted for a b2b without changing cabins wasn't easy ... even a year out.![]()
Thanks again! All of you have made me feel lots better about our decision!

I'm in total agreement. It's a hot humid nasty heat without cover.

I would not care for a completely uncovered balcony. Location on the ship is important, especially on a long cruise.

even with cover...the humidity can be trouble IF and I repeat IF you have breathing problems to begin with( I discovered this first hand).. however there are many many inside venues to watch the transit from as well...
Let me be clear.. it wasn't unbearable... it was just more than I anticipated
