    Cabin above Club Area

Hello, our family will be taking its first cruise next Spring. It is on Princess Sapphire and we have a mini-suite on the Emerald desk on the aft side. It is above Club fusion. I am concerned about noise levels as I have two young kids (both under 5) traveling with us. Should I book a room on the Dolphin deck instead? Also, my parents have an oceanview room on the Emerald desk right across the elevator. Should they be concerned about elevator noise?

    Thank you!

Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

We sailed on Crown Princess, the sister ship of the Sapphire. We were in cabin #E731 ...mini-suite over Club Fusion. Our cabin was on the starboard side (the right side) and we heard nothing at all. I understand that the cabins above the club that are located on the port side (left) are over the bandstand and that you can hear the music late at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our location and would book it again! The cover over the balcony was a real plus since we were protected from the elements, but still had great views and privacy on the balcony.

Hi cruise newbie, welcome to CLF. Yes, change to a cabin on the Dolphin Deck.

I would also be concerned about elevator traffic noise.

    Hi!! Welcome to CLF!!!

We have stayed by the elevators many times, the only noise we hear were passengers laughing & talking as they walked by our cabin. We only heard the loud ones. If they are very sensitive to this type of notice, I would say they might want to move.

    Have a great cruise!

    Welcome!

I've stayed in D735 on the Caribbean Princess. It's an Aft facing cabin 2 decks above Club Fusion and had no problems at all. The only thing heard was the thrusters.

Also had a room right outside the elevator bay before. Got no complaints from me on noise. Found it more as a Pro rather than a Con for cabin location.

Thanks for the quick replies and great advice. I did contact my travel agent about moving, but given the recent price changes due to the stronger US dollar, he advise that it would cost over $1000 to change from Emerald deck to Dolphin deck...needless to say, I will be staying put.

We always get a cabin close to the elevators, because my DH is dsiabled we have never had many problems with nosie, excpet as stated once in a great while there might be someone who forgets themselves but it doesn't last. I also have a freidn that will book only those mini suites, becausethey have a cover balcony, and she said sometimes you might hear the music but nothing that will blast you out of bed. Please after your cruise come back and let us know your review. thanks and have a wonderful cruise.

We were in a far forward inside on Caribe deck on the Sapphire so can't attest to those locations you mentioned. As far as elevators, I would say that depends on the passengers who have cabins around there...some will be quite considerate and your parents won't hear anything. If they have noisy neighbors, they will be a problem no matter the distance from the elevators. Most of the time we haven't had problems with noise except for a Carnival cruise when we were under a dining room (and that was an uprgrade!).
