Question Balcony Cabins and Sea Gulls

Have you ever had a problem with Sea Gulls on your balcony ... or even in your cabin?

On a Baltic cruise they were really pesky! In (think Helsinki especially) it was absolutely impossible to eat anything on the balcony.

Sort of funny ... maybe not really ... some folks a couple of cabins down from us left their balcony door propped open when they left. Sea Gulls came to visit INSIDE their cabin. Guess, their left-over breakfast just looked too tempting.

Our room steward told us about it and warned us to PLEASE continue to keep our balcony door closed. He had a really hard time getting one of them to leave.

hahahaha sorry I had to laugh at the couple who left their cabin door open!

We had not ever had the problem on any of our balconies but we frequent the beach all summer long and we watch & chase the sea gulls away as they are raiding others bags with their food in it. They are brave and very smart for birds LOL

    Funny story, Lulu!
We haven't yet had that problem, and I hadn't really thought about it.
Sea gulls are a fact of life where we live, so to us, they're just part of the landscape.

We never have a problem, but if they do come it is because people will feed them, and it is not allowed, but people will do it. I don't think it is right because those gulls are dirty and if you come back to a mess on your balcony, its because they are looking for you to keep feeding them.

I am one of the guilty, sorry, but I must confess, it was my first cruise since my last in 1986 and I haven't done it since

Very funny story, Lulu! I can only imagine walking into a cabin, unsuspecting, and finding birds (of any kind) flying around the room! I can't even imagine if one of the birds had gotten into the hall! How funny!!!
