Question Does your ITINERARY determine what type of cabin you book?

Do you sometimes pick the category (inside, ocean view, balcony, suite, etc.) and location of your cabin based on your itinerary (where you're sailing and how long) ?

Nope! We always book some kind of balcony cabin no matter what the itinerary! Gotta have my private space for star gazing.

No, we always try to get an aft cabin. I love to sit and watch the wake. I don't think I could stay in an interior cabin. I would always want a balcony.

Always a balcony, no matter what.

Sometimes a suite if it's a special occasion...or if we get a good deal!

Ever since we took our first cruise which was in a balcony, we have always booked a balcony cabin. Love the veranda and sleeping with the door open and hear the waves.

Yes.
For short (3-4 nights) hops to the Bahamas, it just makes no financial sense whatsoever to me to spend the extra on a Balcony... the cruise is short, and we've been to the Bahamas a number of times. Obstructed OV is grreat for these, and affordable enough to do twice a year.

For a week long cruise, we'll usually go with a balcony - AFT if we can snag one.

We have always booked an inside or OV (once had an aft OV,which was pretty cool). But then we try to be out of our cabin as much as possible to enjoy the ship, especially out on deck. So it doesn't matter what the itinerary.

On some itineraries we like to have our balcony on a higher deck and on others we want a balcony on a lower deck.

Also ... the longer the cruise the more important having a balcony or mini-suite is to us.

Smile Always a balcony

Our first 2 cruises we had ocean view. Then we went to Alaska & got a balcony ( of course ) & from that time on, only balconies mid ship. Only way to go !!

If it were just up to me I am hooked on balconies and would prefer to always have one. However I cruise with my friends who don't always want to spend the extra for a balcony, thus I go along with their wishes. I don't think I would compramise to an inside cabin anymore but OV is ok as long as I am with my friends.
The others didn't want to spend the extra for a balcony on our Med cruise, within 2 weeks of our cruise we received an upgrade to a balcony, we were blessed and we all enjoyed it very much.
