    Emerald Princess balcony stateroom

We are planning on taking the Emerald Princess on the 2009 Northern Europe trip. Does anyone have info on which stateroom is quiet, convenient and spacious. Are those things compatible??

I would go with a mini suite midship, near an elevator on Dolphin deck
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

I agree get a mini-suite on Dolphin deck, but also know that they have no covering and so not good if it rains. But you could book a mini-suite on Emerald deck, they are covered, but some people complain of getting noise from the club below.

I was on the Emerald a few months ago. Stayed on Caribe, it was quiet, did not hear anyone complaining about noise on any level. It is a large ship, therefore convenience is subjective. Do you want to be near the elevators, laundry, night club end, gym, dining rooms, etc. Sue Miller gave you a website to locate the thinks that will interest you the most. You can determine if one end is better for you that the other or midship. But, going back to noise, any balcony on the ship can be noisy. You could have a neighbor that has a gathering with their friends on the balcony every evening before they go for dinner. That is what I had, did not bother me, since we got back to the cabin about the time the party was breaking up. They probably partied there since Caribe is one of 2 decks that has large balconies, enough for 4 chairs & 2 tables.

I'm on the Caribe Deck Cabin C734 -- is that a quiet one?

Yes it will be. It is aft of the elevators and the only people that are passing by are the passengers in cabins back there.

    Sue (or anyone),

I'm thinking of booking a late Feb 2009 cruise on the Emerald with my wife (25th ann). I haven't cruised the Emerald or Princess (mostly RCCL). I'm loking for a balcony to mini suite in a good location. 1) Thoughts on Lido cabins, 2) Caribe (open balconies) deck vs. Dolphin (closed balconies)? 3) Other decks (Riviera, Aloha, Baja) 4) Are the balconies on the Emerald steel (stand to see ocean) or glass (can sit an view ocean)?

    Thanks

Hi We just got off the Crown and the Emerald is her sister ship. We were in B 749 an aft corner on Baja deck. It was awesome. It was very quiet. Actually when you get to the end of the hall, our cabin was to a tiny hall that went to that cabin, The balcony is glass and we had 2 reg chairs and a small tables as well as 2 reclining chairs. I just loved it back there and not a bad walk to the aft elevators

Awesome Sue. I hope something like it is available. An aft balcony would be nice. I like the glass as well. I've had balconies with steel and glass and the glass makes the experience so much more open, the cabin brighter, not to mention being able to sit on the balcony and watch the sea go by, etc. Glad you had a good time.
