I JUST remembered this info, hopefully it's helpful. Cabin# 2600 on the Vision OTS. It's an oceanview room on deck 2, starboard side. This room is just above the gangway used on port days, which makes for a lot of noise. This same gangway is also used on embarkation and disembarkation. When we got back to LA on the final day of our cruise, it was about 3 in the morning and employees were unloading luggage and such from the ship. LOUD!

Also, this is just below the tendering area so there is noise both on tender and dock days.

I Googled the cabin number and found this info for you.

Cabin 6331 – Extended Balcony

OK……I am not sure how to put this lightly but I would not book this cabin again. First, there is little privacy on the balcony. The aft is on an incline so you can see up and down onto other balconies. The overhang is a limited. When they cleaned the upper decks, I would get showered while sitting on the balcony. Also, we had two medical emergencies on two different days and the helicopter pad is right above the aft cabins. SO VERY LOUD. This is not the fault of Carnival. The first night with the helicopter I ran out on the balcony to see what the noise was. I was half dressed and looked up to find all the upper decks all got a little show! Ha Ha Noise is louder in the back but that did not bother me too much.

I had an aft balcony on the incline and I liked it, but you do have more privacy on the side balconies. You will also feel more movement at the back of the ship. The view from the aft is wonderful because you can see to the right and left.

You can also find a lot of pictures of the Legend on this website: Webshots - Photo Sharing, Free Wallpaper and Free Screensavers

So, like Pete says, have the deck plans in front of you while booking your cabin and see what's around and above the available cabin. We have even marked our last two bookings "no upgrade" as we didn't want to risk getting moved to an undesirable location.
Does anyone know how much a soda card costs on the Tahitian Princess?

If anyone has had, reads about, or hears of a bad cabin, please feel free to post it here. The more we are able to warn people of these, the happier our CLF cruiser's will be.

Carnival
Conquest 7369---all empty space around it is Crew work areas

Conquest 6456 & 6458---right above the lounge

Glory 8356---Restaurant is right above you and chairs are always being drug around, day and night

Inspiration V42---obstructed view means NO view

Legend 4226---balcony is 1/2 the size of a normal one, even though it looks big on deck plans

Liberty 8434---right below Versailles pool and Pizzeria

Spirit Class---the category 11 aft on deck 5, is not worth the money

Triumph 8410---it's below pool deck and they clean it from 11pm to 5am

Triumph/Victory 6244---you are right above speakers in show lounge

Celebrity
Century 1026---late night deck parties are LOUD

Holland America
Prisendam 507---tiny cabin at only 139 sq ft and is more or less, wall-to-wall bed

HAL R class ships 2500, 2501, 2502, 2503, and 2504---are incredibly small

Rotterdam 1912---above engine room, where an alarm is tested several times during the day

HAL S class ships 304, 305, 306, 307, 308, 309, 310, and 311---loud music from the two nightly shows and the 1am rehearsals

Radiance OTS 9252 & 9652---window washing ladder is stored at both

Radiance OTS 9254 & 9654---only half of balcony is usable, as the other half is under part of the superstructure of the ship.

Radiance OTS---The last 2 cabins on both the port and starboard sides of the ships before the aft/stern cabins. Long walk and lousy cabins.

Serenade OTS 7122---lifeboats below have a huge overhang and you can't see the water below from your balcony

Vision OTS---Any port side cabin on the 4th deck. It seems to smell like sewage all the time.

Good Rule of Thumb!

When booking a Balcony or Mini-suite Cabin, try to book it on the same deck as most of the Suites are located ... also, as close as possible to the Suites.

Doing this has always worked out great for us!

I am in E46 on the Carnival Ecstacy. It looks like it's right under the 'mall'. I don't expect there to be a lot of 'activity' at night when everyone is sleeping. Does anyone have any experience with this cabin or deck level?
We were on the Conquest last summer and our cabin (on the Upper Deck) was right at the front of the ship. I LOVED IT. The 'mini deck' right out our window was like our own personal deck. I would stand out there every night before bed (sometimes in my jammies) and just enjoy the quiet and the breeze.
Unfortunately, the Ecstacy doesn't have cabins up front. Anyone?
