Need help fast. Is the front of the ship really that bad?

We are considering booking a guarantee cabin. The only thing that holds me back is the possibility of getting a cabin in the front of the ship. I have read that if you are prone to motion sickness (I am), this are the worst place to be. I have read good things about guarantee cabins, but I am uncertain. What is your opinion?
BTW, I usually use the patch, but can still feel the motion somewhat.

It is true that if it gets a liitle rough you will feel it more at the front of the ship! If it gets really rough you will feel it all over the ship!! We use Bonine, buy it at Wally for $3 for 36 pills, one a day starting the day before the cruise, take around the same time every day!! Being on the cruise tho is a tough time to find out it doesn't work for you!! We sail only on the aft!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

clerky, I would say it depends on the size of the ship as well as the weather.
3 years ago we took a GTY cabin on Adventure of the Seas and ended up with the balcony cabin furthest forward on the starboard side. Now we had calm seas, but we only felt the motion of the ship was when we were lying down. And then the ship rocked us to sleep! It wasn't really that noticeable.

We were on Serenade of the Seas last year, and it was too rainy to have the horse race by the pool near the end of the cruise, so they had it in the bar that faces aft. We had high but not rough seas, and you could easily see the horizon going UP and then going DOWN. I never got sick, but I didn't need as much alcohol to feel tipsy that day.

MY advice is to find out what cabins are available for the price that was quoted to you, and where they are on the ship. Then look at where on the ship you would like to be. Take a look at the price difference, and then decide what will make you happiest. Some people will say go for the cheaper cabin, but only you know how uncomfortable you would be if you were somewhere less desirable.

Another thing you can do is go for a cabin that you select, and then when you are on board, go forward and knock on a door and ask the people inside how bad the motion of the ship is in their cabin. (Some people may not want to talk to strangers, but you will run into one cabin with someone just delighted to answer your questions. Like us here! ) Then with that info, book your next cruise while you are onboard, and get onboard ship credit for that follow-on cruise.

after 40 cruise- we only had problems with foreward cabin1 time(most we were not foreward) and that was buenas aires to santiago and we had very rough seas>This was hal royal-- smaller ship. When the ship lifted with waves and came down it was like a huge sledhammer hit the hull.A bit frightening--but i trust the captain.

I had no problems with sea sickness. My husband who usually does not get seasick did.

I think it depend on the cruise itenary
